Hertford Art Society, 3 October 2023
Hertford Art Society invited me to deliver my specialist mindfulness workshop as a visiting artist, and to experience the calming and relaxing effect of slow making.
The Society is long standing having been in existence since 1953 and focuses on fostering local interest in art by providing opportunities to practice, study and exhibit art. The members of the society meet at the United Reform Church Hall, Cowbridge, Hertford so it was a fitting place to experience the calming connection that is possible with my approach to making.
Many of the members present were new to meditation and to making with clay. They were all very willing and open to the newness of the experience and we all gelled by the end of the evening into a harmonious group of makers. The feedback was wonderful and some photos of the event show how the spaces between making became one of connection and community support.
Job done I would say!
