These weekly handbuilding classes run in 6-week blocks throughout the year, giving you the chance to develop your skills, build creative confidence, and enjoy the therapeutic process of working with clay. Each block explores core techniques—coiling, pinching, slab-building, surface decoration and glazing—while also allowing space for personal projects and creative expression. Why we teach in blocks Our 6-week blocks are designed to help you steadily build your skills while giving clay the time it needs to dry, fire, and return for finishing. Pottery is a slow craft, and these blocks create a natural rhythm that mirrors the making process. You’ll gain a deeper understanding of form, texture, and technique across the weeks, while enjoying the grounding, meditative quality that comes with returning to the studio regularly.
