Monthly Mindfulness clay workshop

This clay creativity workshop is held in person at my idyllic countryside studio and focuses on intuitive making in clay on a monthly basis.

Working with clay in this way is a really beautiful way of meeting with your creative potential, so is ideal both for beginners in clay or more experienced makers.  The joy of clay is that it encourages an uncomplicated and reflective approach to making, allowing you to learn new skills as well as enjoying a relaxing and satisfying activity in a non-judgemental setting.

Numbers are limited as this allows for greater connection between you and the clay and more opportunity for you to absorb yourself in your creative flow.

Some reviews:
“Wonderful class…..I loved it, Sarah is a great instructor and I would definitely do this again.”  Becky Irvin.
“Thank you for a great class!… great delivery.” DA

“There is something really…organic to taping into your intuition and meditating as a starting point. I often create with a purpose and then I need to make a thing and it was really enjoyable to let go of that…then you go from there and then work with it and develop.” EM

Each session is 2 hours and is introduced with guided relaxation exercises leading on to clay activities.  The final outcome might be a finished clay item or a series of items.  The beauty of this approach is that result of your creativity is at home with you ready to enjoy.

Session themes:
* cultivating the beginners mind (intro to clay, form and scale)
* supporting form (working with soft clay slabs)
* mindful listening (pinching and carving clay)
* mindful looking (coiling, grasping and joining clay)
* combining colour (folding, colour and facets in clay)
* balancing our effort (meaningful objects in clay)
